Dinner and a Movie

On Sunday, September 28th at 6:00 PM, the youth group is hosting a spaghetti dinner and movie at the church. The movie will be “Finding Nemo.“ We are using our new projector and showing the movie outdoors, weather permitting. All of this will be on a donation basis with the funds going to the youth’s September project, FreeTheSlaves.net Free The Slaves is a group working around the world to bring some 27 million slaves into freedom. So, come for dinner and stay for the movie!

Hi Clint, I only wish I could join you all for dinner and Finding Nemo. My son is now 12, and somehow I have never managed to see that film (I’ve seen American Treasure three times).
But I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the youth of Cable Community Church for their (and your) support of Free the Slaves. All over the world we have projects helping people to freedom, and there are always more needing emancipation than we can reach, so every bit of support means a lot.

So sorry that you couldn’t be here. I’m certain you’d have a lot to tell our group about the ministry of Free the Slaves. In your stead, I’ve downloaded a clip from your web site and plan to show it as an intro to the movie.
You really should see Finding Nemo. It’s about a little fish, Nemo, who gets captured and taken away from his father. The dad then devotes all of his energies toward finding him. Nothing to compare to a real child being taken into slavery, and yet, there are slight similarities, perhaps. We’ll see.
